Recently, PT. PLN issued a certificate awarding the Best Performance Power Plant to the Kaltim2 power plant in Indonesia, fully acknowledging the operational and management capabilities of Indonesian GPK Company, which is controlled by Chengda, and its contribution to Indonesian State Grid Corporation.

For the past four years, all operating personnel at GPK Company in Indonesia, with the strong support of Chengda headquarters, have overcome challenges posed by the pandemic and other factors, fully committed to combating the epidemic and safeguarding production and operations. They have consistently exceeded the power generation targets set by PT PLN, not only providing a reliable power supply to the East Kalimantan region but also creating a large number of stable and high-quality job opportunities. They have also positively impacted social, economic and livelihood initiatives, making a positive contribution to the friendly relations between China and Indonesia. In 2023, Indonesia's GPK Company was also honored with multiple awards, including the Environmental Protection Certificate issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of East Kalimantan Province, the Outstanding Import Performance Contribution Award issued by Samarinda Customs, and the Outstanding Contribution Award for the Largest Taxpayer in 2022 presented by the Bangtan City Tax Bureau.

It is worth mentioning that the first major overhaul of the power plant unit, which was delayed due to the epidemic, has also been successfully completed recently. The auxiliary power consumption rate of the plant has decreased by about 15%, the carbon dioxide emissions per unit of electricity generation have decreased by about 4.8%, and the unit water makeup rate has decreased from 4.5% to 2.72%. This can save 15,000 tons of demineralized water annually. The major overhaul effectively reduced carbon emissions, achieving significant cost reduction and efficiency gains, and laid a solid foundation for future high-load commercial operations.
