Recently, the final results of the first Sichuan Provincial Employee Innovation Competition "Participate in Innovation and Draw a Smart Future", hosted by the Sichuan Federation of Trade Unions, were officially announced, and the award-winning projects were showcased and exchanged. The innovative technology of molten salt energy storage system independently developed by Chengda won the Excellent Innovation Project Award.
This award-winning "Innovative Technology of Molten Salt Energy Storage System" by Chengda is a technological achievement discovered and solved during the design process of solar thermal power generation projects. The operating temperature of molten salt is as high as 590 ℃, and its high melting point and strong corrosion characteristics make the operating conditions of the system complex. This technology is the world's first double wall jacketed molten salt storage tank, which cleverly shares the strength and thermal insulation performance requirements between the inner and outer tanks. Combined with supporting systems, it successfully solves the global technical problems faced by high-temperature molten salt energy storage systems, such as "large temperature difference stress", "metal high-temperature fatigue" and "difficult tank preheating". This technology achievement has been successfully applied to the first batch of 20 solar thermal power generation demonstration projects of the National Energy Administration, which is highly in line with the requirements of the national “Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals” strategy. It is of great significance to promote the development and application of grid-friendly new energy power with coupling of source and network load and storage .
